Posting pictures of children on Facebook

There have been discussions today about French laws that means a parent who posts  a picture of their child on social media and if that child later opposes it, they can sue the parent. Would this restrict what you put on social media? Should parents post pictures of their children without their consent? Under the French law, both parents have to also approve any pictures that are posted!
