She said she wants to inspire the next generation to love the subject.  ‘When we went into lockdown studying for my degree became so uncertain, but lecturers were quick to adapt and provide as much extra support as was necessary to help me and other students feel that we could continue and that we could succeed.’

Leah came to the University of Worcester for a number of reasons. ‘I chose to study at Worcester because the modules across both of my courses seemed broad in subject topic, challenging and interesting,’ she said. ‘I also found that when I visited the University on their Open Day that the onsite accommodation was the best that I had seen in comparison to other universities I had visited; clean, bright and airy, ideally located and value for money.

Alex Moss has achieved a First-Class Honours in Media and Culture during the pandemic. ‘I was absolutely over the moon; I could not really believe it at first,” said Alex. “After it had sunk in, I think I just felt really happy and pleased with what I had achieved, I was really proud of myself…Our lecturers were great, moving to online teaching in such a short amount of time and changing assignments that were meant to be done in person to fit with the circumstances and providing the support needed for that change did help.’

Alex’s plans are to go into the marketing industry, but for now she is focusing on working and gaining some experience to help her towards whatever career in the future she chooses. She added: ‘I have thought about the possibility of returning to Worcester to do a Master’s or possibly a PhD but for now I am hoping to continue working, gain some experience, and just see where it takes me.’
